The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, issued Trade Notice No. 15/2025-26 dated 29 October 2025, announcing a major revision in the eligibility criteria for Indian exporters to register on the “Source from India” service of the Trade Connect ePlatform.

The change is aimed at allowing a larger number of Indian exporters to showcase their products to international buyers and effective from 1 November 2025.

The “Source from India” service was first launched through Trade Notice No. 5/2025-26 on 13 June 2025. It is a digital platform that helps global buyers find reliable Indian exporters and suppliers.

Exporters can create their own microsites on the Trade Connect portal to display their products, achievements and business credentials. The initiative has been designed as a one-stop platform to promote Indian exports and enhance global trade visibility.

Until now, only Status Holder exporters were eligible to create profiles on the platform. With the latest revision, DGFT has opened the door for many more exporters.

Now, any exporter with a valid Importer Exporter Code (IEC) that is not on the Denied Entity List (DEL) and has achieved a minimum export realisation of 100,000 US dollars in at least one of the previous three financial years will be eligible to register.

The DGFT eBRC (electronic Bank Realisation Certificate) database will be used to verify export performance, ensuring transparency and accuracy.

DGFT has informed that eligible exporters will automatically see the option to create a “Source from India” profile on their Trade Connect dashboard. A detailed guide has also been shared to help exporters complete the registration process. Once approved, their profiles will be visible to foreign buyers visiting the platform.

The DGFT has also directed Indian Missions Abroad to use the platform as a reference tool when assisting foreign buyers seeking Indian suppliers. Export Promotion Councils and industry associations have been urged to spread awareness and encourage participation among their members.
