The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) under the Ministry of Finance issued Notification No. 60/2025-Customs (N.T.) dated September 30, 2025, revising the tariff values for imported goods such as edible oils, brass scrap, gold, silver, and areca nuts. These updated rates will take effect from October 1, 2025.
In comparison to the previous Notification No. 56/2025-Customs (N.T.) dated September 15, 2025, the latest notification brings an increase in the tariff values of all major edible oils.
This includes Crude Palm Oil, RBD Palm Oil, Other Palm Oils, Crude Palmolein, RBD Palmolein, Other Palmolein, and Crude Soyabean Oil. The upward revision reflects firming global prices and reverses the earlier downward trend observed in previous updates.
The tariff value for Brass Scrap (all grades) has also been raised slightly, indicating minor adjustments in response to market movement. A notable increase has been recorded in the tariff values of gold and silver across all categories. The value of gold has risen from USD 1175 to USD 1231 per 10 grams, and silver from USD 1364 to USD 1515 per kilogram.
