The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), under the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 74/2025-Customs (N.T.) dated November 14, 2025, revising the customs tariff values of key imported goods including edible oils, brass scrap, gold, silver, and areca nuts.

The revised rates come into effect from November 15, 2025, under Section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962.

Compared to the earlier Notification No. 72/2025-Customs (N.T.) dated October 31, 2025, which had slightly reduced tariff values for edible oils and precious metals, the latest revision introduces further reductions in edible oils, while sharply increasing tariff values for gold, silver, and brass scrap.

The tariff value for crude palm oil has been cut to USD 1066 per metric tonne, while RBD palm oil stands at USD 1084. Crude soybean oil has also been reduced to USD 1159 per metric tonne.

In the bullion segment, gold has been increased to USD 1350 per 10 grams, and silver has been raised to USD 1739 per kilogram, reflecting a rebound in global precious metal prices.
