The legislative agenda for the day also includes the introduction of the Finance Bill, 2026, which gives legal effect to the taxation and financial proposals announced in the Budget.

The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union budget 2026-27 today at 11:00 am before the Lok Sabha.
The Budget presentation will include a detailed statement of the estimated receipts and expenditure of the Government of India for the coming financial year.
Along with the Budget speech, the Finance Minister will also lay on the Table key fiscal documents mandated under the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) framework. These include the Medium-Term Fiscal Policy-cum-Fiscal Policy Strategy Statement and the Macro-Economic Framework Statement.
The purpose of the FRBM Act was to give the government legal support for the establishment of fiscal discipline in the country. As a result, it is a parliamentary act that establishes goals for the Indian government to reduce its fiscal deficits, increase fiscal prudence, improve the management of public funds, and develop financial discipline.
The legislative agenda for the day also includes the introduction of the Finance Bill, 2026, which gives legal effect to the taxation and financial proposals announced in the Budget.
