GST Compliance Alert: 2 Days Remaining to File GSTR-3B for March 2026
Taxpayers have only 2 days left to file GSTR-3B for March 2026 by April 20 to avoid late fees and compliance issues

With only three days left for the deadline, taxpayers are required to file their GSTR-3B return for March 2026 by 20 April 2026 to avoid late fees and penalties.
GSTR-3B is a monthly summary return where businesses report their sales, input taxcredit (ITC), tax liability and tax payments. It is mandatory for taxpayers with turnover above ₹5 crore and also for those who are not under the QRMP scheme.
As per GST rules, the due date for filing monthly GSTR-3B is the 20th of the following month, so the due date for March 2026 remains 20 April 2026. No extension has been announced till now.
Many taxpayers are facing issues on the GST portal such as slow loading, errors in saving data, and problems while using ITC. Some users also reported that the March return option is not showing properly in dashboard.
Recent updates from February 2026 onwards have changed the filing process slightly. The portal now auto-fills tax liability based on GSTR-1 data, and interest on delayed payment is calculated automatically. Taxpayers should check these auto-filled values carefully before filing.
One tax professional shared a detailed complaint with a screenshot directly under the GSTN post: “Site is not working properly save he nhi ho pa rha data bhai tum log kr kya rhe ho as a tax professional maine kl client se 1000000.00 rs cash mai challan paid kraya per aapki site he nhi chl pa rhi. Or humko milta hai choti se salary, pressure, Tension, slow site.”
GSTN replied to the comment, saying “please raise a ticket at https://selfservice.gstsystem.in/ & share ticket number with us via DM. We’ll be happy to help you.”
Other users echoed similar concerns, with comments like “Portal Not proper working,” “First correct the bloody site then put reminder,” and “It is highly unreasonable that the portal is not functioning, yet timely filing of returns is expected.”
Late filing of GSTR-3B will attract penalties. Rs. 50 per day is charged for returns with tax liability and Rs. 10 per day for nil returns, subject to maximum limits. Continuous delay can also block e-way bill facility and may lead to more scrutiny.
