The Goods and Services Tax (GST) portal has displayed a new due date of October 25, 2025 for filing GSTR-3B, the monthly tax return form used by registered taxpayers. The change appeared on the official GST portal on October 17, 2025, under the section “Monthly Return – GSTR-3B.”

Normally, the due date for filing GSTR-3B is the 20th of every month for most taxpayers. The return contains details of outward supplies, input tax credit, and taxes payable for a particular month. It is one of the most important compliance requirements under the GST system.

Despite the change displayed on the portal, there has been no official notification or circular issued by the Central Boardof Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) or the GST Council confirming the extension of the filing deadline. This has led to confusion among businesses, tax consultants, and chartered accountants who are unsure whether the new date is official or a result of a system update.

If officially confirmed, the new due date of October 25, 2025 would provide taxpayers an additional five days to file their GSTR-3B returns for the month, easing compliance pressure for many businesses.
