A GST registration was approved within less than an hour, showing the victory of the government’s digital reforms and promise aimed at improving the ease of doing business.
As shared by Chartered Accountant Ruchita Vaghani on social media, the GST registration process began at 1:42 PM, Aadhaar authentication was completed by 1:58 PM, and the GSTN approval was granted by 2:35 PM, a completion of the entire process in just 53 minutes.
The quick approval shows the positive impact of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs' (CBIC) improved GST interface and automated verification processes.
The initiative is a part of an ongoing effort by the Ministry of Finance to use digital innovations and real-time validation procedures to simplify compliance for small taxpayers and new firms.
CA Vaghani, in her ‘X’ post wrote that “Now This Real Ease of Doing Business For Small TaxPayer.” She also shared that another GST registration was also within less than an hour.
The government recently announced new initiatives to speed up GST registration, including official notifications and an advisory from GSTN about the new 3-day registration system. The accountant’s experience of getting GST approval within an hour comes right in the middle of these efforts.
The advisory said that “In pursuance of Rule 14A of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Rules, 2017, a Simplified GST Registration Scheme has been introduced to reduce the compliance burden and enhance the ease of doing business for small taxpayers.”
If such initiatives continue effectively, they can make a big difference for small taxpayers by saving time and reducing compliance difficulties.
