GSTN Enables UPI, Credit and Debit Card GST Payment Methods in Andhra Pradesh: All 28 States Enabled

The Goods and Services Tax Network ( GSTN ) has included Andhra Pradesh in the list of states enabled for GST payments through Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Credit and Debit Card modes, marking the completion of nationwide rollout across all 28 States under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.

The inclusion of Andhra Pradesh is indicative of a major step in the government’s efforts to promote cashless tax compliance and ease of doing business by integrating faster, secure, and user-friendly digital payment methods into the GST platform.

The GSTN has maintained that they are steadfast on expanding progressively to integrate Union Territories into the digital payment mechanism as well.

Under this facility, GST-registered taxpayers can now pay their taxes directly through the GST portal without relying on net banking or manual challan uploads. The new interface allows instant processing through UPI apps or major card networks such as Rupay, Visa, MasterCard, and Diners Club, ensuring quick settlement and real-time confirmation.

The integration is being facilitated through the RBI-approved Payment Aggregator Framework, and is backed by leading banking partners including Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IDFC First Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Indian Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Union Bank, Karnataka Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, and South Indian Bank among others.

The UPI integration is expected to particularly benefit small and medium businesses (SMEs), enabling them to make faster, contactless tax payments using mobile payment applications. Similarly, the card-based option offers greater flexibility for enterprises preferring digital settlements linked with corporate or banking platforms.

Since ’Digital India’ is the norm of the day, paperless governance objectives are also in force, ensuring taxpayers’ access to modern, interoperable and secure digital mechanisms under GST.

Taxpayers can access the service directly through the official GST portal website and select the “Payment through UPI / Credit / Debit Card” option at the time of challan generation.
