The Haryana GST Act, 2017, provides for the appointment and empowerment of officers to administer the law.

The Exciseand Taxation Department, Haryana, has issued Order No. 01/2026/GST‑II on 13 June 2026. This order specifies the officers empowered to act under section 151 of the Haryana Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.
Under the order, the designated officers are empowered to perform functions within their respective jurisdictions unless a specific jurisdiction is mentioned otherwise.
The notification was signed by Vinay Pratap Singh, Commissioner of State Tax. This assigns the functions of Authorised Officers to Deputy Commissioners of State Tax and Excise and Taxation Officers of State Tax, subject to jurisdictional limitations.
The Haryana GST Act, 2017, provides for the appointment and empowerment of officers to administer the law. Section 5(1) authorises the Commissioner to assign functions to officers of State Tax, subject to conditions and limitations.
Section 5(2) adds that officers of State Tax may exercise powers and discharge duties conferred under the Act, including those delegated by superior officers. Importantly, while appellate authorities retain their adjudicatory role, they are barred from exercising powers conferred on other officers of the State Tax.
The Commissioner can also delegate powers to subordinate officers, ensuring flexibility in administration.
The copies of the order has been sent to senior officials, including the Principal Secretary (Excise & Taxation), Additional Commissioners, Joint Excise and Taxation Commissioners, Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioners, and other departmental officers.
