The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the results of the Chartered Accountants Intermediate Examination held in May 2026 through a press release dated June 24, 2026.   • The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the results of the Chartered Accountants Intermediate Examination held in May 2026 through a press release dated June 24, 2026.

  • Shardul Shekhar Vichare of Dombivali secured the All India First Rank (AIR 1) by scoring 531 marks out of 600, translating to 88.50%.

    Abhinav Satheesh from Kochi secured the All India Second Rank with 530 marks out of 600 and a score of 88.33%.

    Teerth Jain of Mumbai secured the All India Third Rank with 519 marks out of 600, recording 86.50%.

  • Pass Percentage

    In Group I, 91,237 candidates appeared for the examination, of whom 9,350 candidates passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 10.25%.

    For Group II, 64,381 candidates appeared and 10,372 candidates qualified, recording a pass percentage of 16.11%.

    Among candidates who appeared for both groups, 33,304 candidates took the examination and 2,820 candidates successfully cleared both groups, resulting in a pass percentage of 8.47%.

    The results have generated discussion among members of the CA community and students on social media. Some Chartered Accountants reacting to the results observed that the pass percentages were comparatively low, particularly for candidates appearing in both groups, where the overall pass percentage remained below 10%.

    The CA Intermediate examination is one of the key stages in the Chartered Accountancy course and serves as a gateway for candidates to advance to articleship training and the Final examination. Candidates who emerged successful in these examinations will now proceed to the next phase of the qualification process, while the others are expected to reappear in subsequent examination cycles.
