TheInstitute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that CA Intermediate Examination, Group II, Paper 5 – Auditing and Ethics, which is scheduled for 19th January 2026 (Monday) has been postponed. The decision applies to all exam centres in India and abroad. ICAI explained that the change is due to unavoidable circumstances, but it does not specify the exact reason.
The Institute assures students that the revised date will be announced soon. Until then, candidates are advised to keep checking the official ICAI website www.icai.org for updates. Importantly, ICAI clarified that the schedule of all other CA examinations remains unchanged. This means only Paper 5 is affected, while exams on other dates are conducted as planned.
This announcement is important because Paper 5, Auditing and Ethics, is a core subject in CA Intermediate course. It tests students on auditing standards, procedures, and professional ethics, making it an important paper for future chartered accountants. The postponement may give candidates extra time for revision, but it also requires them to adjust study plans and keep focus until the new date is declared.
