The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released ‘Quick Legal Forms’, a practical toolkit of ready-to-use legal drafts designed to assist Chartered Accountants in their daily practice and client servicing. This initiative has been launched by the Committee on Commercial Laws, Economic Advisory, and NPO Cooperative of ICAI, addressing the routine drafting needs that CAs frequently encounter while advising clients on financial, business, and estate matters.
What does the Quick Legal Forms toolkit include?
The toolkit provides pre-drafted legal templates in five key areas:
- Gift Deed: 5 types covering various gift scenarios.
- Partnership Deed: 11 types for diverse partnership structures.
- Power of Attorney: 10 types, including general and specific POAs.
- Rent Agreement: 1 standard format for tenancy arrangements.
- Wills: 3 types for different estate planning needs.
These templates are designed to save time, ensure legal accuracy, and reduce drafting errors, allowing Chartered Accountants to focus on advisory and compliance work without the delays of preparing standard documents from scratch.
