ICAI sets Guinness World Record with Largest Career Guidance Session for Youth in Mumbai

In a landmark initiative blending education, outreach, and national pride, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has earned a Guinness World Record for conducting the largest careers advice lesson during its flagship programme “Career in Accounting and Finance for Youth (CAFY 4.0)” held in Mumbai.

The record-setting event, part of ICAI’s Super Mega Career Counselling Programme: Bhavishya Ki Raah, brought together over 7,400 participants, including students, teachers, principals, and parents.

Of these, 6,166 students were officially counted toward the Guinness World Record, which was validated by adjudicators present at the venue. The session was hosted at, NESCO Mumbai, with thousands more joining simultaneously from across India.

The programme was inaugurated with a formal ceremony attended by ICAI dignitaries and senior officials from various government departments.

The structured, curriculum-based guidance session focused on helping students from Class VI to graduation make informed career choices across commerce, science, humanities, and emerging disciplines. The event emphasized the difference between short-term jobs and long-term careers, encouraging students to explore diverse opportunities in fields such as digital finance, sports analytics, and global commerce.

CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda, President of ICAI, congratulated the team and participants, stating, “Achieving a Guinness World Record for the largest career advice lesson is a proud moment that shows how deeply ICAI values guiding young minds. Reaching over 6,166 students in one session has helped them make informed choices and opened doors to opportunities beyond borders, equipping the next generation with the wisdom, integrity and confidence to shape a stronger future.”

The session included focused modules on “Choosing the Right Career” and “Guiding Students Towards Purposeful Careers,” highlighting self-awareness, personal strengths, and thoughtful decision-making. Students received detailed insights into the CharteredAccountancy course structure, ICAI’s merit-based and cost-effective education ecosystem, scholarship opportunities, and the global career avenues available to qualified CAs.

Expert speakers and motivational leaders from ICAI and academia delivered talks on financial literacy, ethical career planning, and the role of commerce professionals in national development. The record attempt was meticulously coordinated, with adherence to international standards ensured by Guinness World Records adjudicators and official witnesses.
