The ICAI Council has clarified that, as per Regulation 159 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the Gondia District Branch shall function under the control, supervision, and directions of the Council through the Western India Regional Council.

The branch will be responsible for carrying out such directions and responsibilities as may be issued by the Council from time to time. This decision is expected to strengthen ICAI’s regional presence and provide better facilities, resources, and professional development opportunities to chartered accountants and students residing in the Gondia district.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has recently introduced major reforms to expand global opportunities for Indian Chartered Accountants. It has allowed the creation of “mirror firms” in GIFT City’s International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) and approved dual Certificates of Practice (COPs), enabling CAs to operate both in India and abroad.

In partnership with the International Financial Services Centre Authority (IFSCA), ICAI also hosted a Global Capability Centre (GCC) summit to promote GIFT City as a hub for international finance and business services.
