ICAI to Issue Membership Fee Tax Invoices with Employer GSTIN
ICAI will start issuing membership fee tax invoices with your employer’s GSTIN from April 1, 2026

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced an important update for Chartered Accountants (CAs) working in companies.
The ICAI Council has approved the issuance of tax invoices for membership fees that will include the GSTIN of a member’s employer, if the company pays the membership fee. This new system will start from April 1, 2026, in the next billing cycle.
The update was shared by CA Akhil Pachori on X platform. This move will help companies that pay the membership fees of their employed CAs. With the employer’s GSTIN mentioned on the invoice, companies will have proper tax documentation for their records and GST compliance.

What Members Need to Do
To make sure the new system works smoothly, ICAI has asked members working in industry to update their details on the Self Service Portal (SSP) before February 25, 2026.
Members must complete the following steps:
Update Employment Details: Submit or revise employment information using the “Update Employment/Engagement Form” under the Member Functions section on the SSP.
Add Employer’s GSTIN: After updating employment details, enter the employer’s GSTIN using the “Update Your Profile” option under Member Functions.
ICAI has advised members to complete these steps on time to avoid any delay in receiving tax invoices in the next financial year.
Members who have not yet updated their employment information are encouraged to do so at the earliest to ensure smooth processing of their membership fee invoices.
