The Income Tax Department has enabled the online filing of ITR-6 for the Assessment Year 2025-26 on its official e-filing portal. The new facility, made available on 25 September 2025, allows companies to file their income tax returns using pre-filled data, simplifying the filing process and reducing manual effort.

Along with the online mode, the department has also released updated offline utilities for ITR-6. These utilities are specifically designed for companies other than companies claiming exemption under section 11 of the Income Tax Act. Such companies can now choose between JSON-based and Excel-based utilities to prepare and file their returns offline before uploading them to the portal.
