Income Tax Portal Under Maintenance Right After Audit Deadline: MSME CA Frustrated by Poor Timing
The maintenance was scheduled right after the audit filing deadline, causing inconvenience to CAs and MSMEs during peak working hours.

The Income Tax Department’s online compliance portal is under scheduled maintenance, just days after the audit report filing deadline. During this period, taxpayers and accountants cannot access the Annual Information Statement (AIS) or Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS).
According to a notice on the site, the portal will remain unavailable until 6 AM on November 13, 2025.
Chartered Accountant Abhas Halakhandi, who works with MSMEs, posted about the issue on X (formerly Twitter). He shared a screenshot of the maintenance message and requested the department to plan such updates during non-working hours.

Tax professionals say this timing is inconvenient since many are completing post-audit compliance work. They rely on the AIS and TIS for verifying financial data, matching tax deductions, and preparing filings.
In recent months, users have faced several technical challenges on the portal, especially around major tax deadlines. Professionals say smoother maintenance planning could help reduce stress for MSMEs and accountants during busy filing periods.
The portal is expected to be available again on Thursday (13th Nov) from 6 AM. Users are advised to check updates on incometax.gov.in.
