MCD extends Deadline for 10% Property Tax Rebate

This decision was taken during the first meeting of the Standing Committee of MCD, which was held on Friday at the Civic Centre. The meeting was led by Satya Sharma, who is the new Chairperson of the Standing Committee. All committee members took part actively in the meeting, discussing several issues that are important for the welfare of the people of Delhi.

The 10% rebate helps many property owners as they get some relief while paying their annual tax. The MCD hopes that by extending the deadline, more people will pay their property tax on time. This will also help the MCD collect more revenue, which will be used for improving civic services in the city, such as roads, garbage collection, and maintenance of parks.

A senior MCD official said, “We want to give people more time so that they can pay without any rush. Many people have requested an extension, and we have taken this step for their benefit.”

In addition to the property tax rebate, the Standing Committee also discussed other important issues during the meeting. These included improving sanitation services, fixing potholes on roads before the monsoon, and planning for better waste management in crowded markets. The committee also reviewed plans for improving water drainage systems to prevent waterlogging during heavy rains.

The MCD urged all property owners in Delhi to take advantage of the extended rebate and pay their property tax before July 31 to avoid penalties later. Citizens can pay their property tax online through the MCD website or by visiting the nearest MCD office.
