The NFRA, a body constituted under Section 132 of the Companies Act, 2013, serves as India’s independent regulator for accounting and auditing. It oversees the quality of audit services, enforces compliance with accounting and auditing standards and monitors professional misconduct among auditors of public interest entities. The Authority plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and promoting transparency and accountability within India’s corporate governance framework.
At present, the NFRA seeks to onboard individuals with extensive administrative experience, particularly retired Principal Secretaries and equivalent-level officers, who have worked in areas such as finance, public administration, corporate regulation or governance. Selected consultants will assist NFRA through advisory, review and technical support functions, contributing to its committees and help evaluate complex accounting and audit issues.
