Union Minister Piyush Goyal Highlights Engagement in India’s Export Push Across Banking and MSME Sectors
Piyush Goyal led a series of key engagements last week to boost export growth through improved banking support, MSME outreach, and industrial development.

Last week, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, took several important steps to support India’s export growth. His engagements focused on key areas such as banking, MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), high-tech manufacturing, and infrastructure development.
To begin the week, Goyal held a high-level meeting with the Chairman of the State Bank of India, senior officials from other leading banks, representatives from ECGC Ltd., and officials from the Ministry.

The discussion focused on improving export credit, a crucial form of financial support that helps Indian exporters compete in global markets. The Minister encouraged banks to find more ways to make credit easily available to exporters, especially small businesses.
As part of his outreach to regional businesses, Piyush Goyal travelled to Srinagar, where he met with members of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the MSME Development Forum (Kashmir Chapter).
He also interacted with the Jammu & Kashmir Fruits and Vegetable Processing and Integrated Cold Chain Association. These meetings were aimed at understanding local business needs and exploring how the government can better support MSMEs and boost exports from the region.
Later in the week, the Minister visited Bengaluru, where he toured two important facilities located in the Aerospace Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Devanahalli. These included Unimech Aerospace Manufacturing Limited and Safran HAL Aircraft Engines Private Limited.
Both companies are part of the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) Aerospace SEZ and play a major role in India’s defence and aerospace exports. Goyal’s visit highlighted the importance of high-tech, export-oriented manufacturing in India’s growth story.

Finally, a review meeting was held to address issues affecting major infrastructure projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan. This was done through the Project Monitoring Group (PMG), which works to solve problems and fast-track large development projects.
All these activities took place last week and show the government’s strong focus on supporting exports, improving credit access, helping small businesses, and building better infrastructure across India.
