The Embassy of India in Dublin has issued a formal security advisory calling on Indian citizens in Ireland to exercise increased caution following a notable rise in physical attacks against members of the Indian community.

The advisory warns of an uptick in recent incidents, including a shocking assault in the Tallaght area of Dublin, where a man was beaten and stripped by a group of teenagers. In another alarming instance, a 32-year-old AI data scientist named Santosh Yadav suffered facial fractures when attacked at his apartment by multiple assailants.

The advisory stated as follows, “There has been an increase in the instances of physical attacks reported against Indian citizens in Ireland recently. TheEmbassy is in touch with the authorities concerned of Ireland in this regard. At the same time, all Indian citizens inIreland are advised to take reasonable precautions for their personal security and avoid deserted areas, especially in odd hours.

These incidents have prompted the embassy to warn that Indian nationals should avoid deserted locations, particularly during odd hours, and take reasonable precautions for personal security. The embassy also affirmed ongoing coordination with Irish law enforcement and authorities to monitor and address these developments.

The advisory reflects the distress within the Indian diaspora, many of whom are professionals, students, or technical experts contributing significantly to Irish society.

In response, the Irish government, including its Deputy Prime Minister, has condemned the violence as “despicable acts of violence” and racism. The deputy PM reaffirmed Ireland’s commitment to never tolerate racism, announcing plans to meet with Indian community representatives to strengthen support and safety measures.
