Appointments to the Delhi High Court
On July 1, 2025, the Collegium approved the appointments of Ms. Shail Jain and Ms. Madhu Jain as Judges of the Delhi High Court.
Ms. Shail Jain: Born on October 7, 1966, she completed her B.Sc. (Zoology Hons.) from Delhi University in 1986 and obtained her LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, in 1990. She joined the Delhi Judicial Service in 1992 and has served in various capacities, including as Principal District & Sessions Judge in Shahdara, East, and currently South Districts.
Ms. Madhu Jain: Born on November 18, 1966, she earned her B.Sc. (Zoology Hons.) from Daulat Ram College, Delhi, and completed her LL.B. in 1991. She joined the Delhi Judicial Service in 1992 and was promoted to the Delhi Higher Judicial Service in 2003. She has served as Principal District & Sessions Judge in West District, Tis Hazari Courts.
On July 2, 2025, the Collegium approved the appointment of Shri Vinod Kumar as a Judge of the Delhi High Court.
Shri Vinod Kumar: Selected for the Delhi Judicial Service in 1992 and promoted to the Delhi Higher Judicial Service in 2003, he has held positions such as District Judge (Commercial Courts) at North-West District, Rohini, and Principal Judge, Family Courts, South District, Saket. He is currently serving as Principal District and Sessions Judge, West District, Tis Hazari.
Appointments to the Punjab & Haryana High Court
In the same meeting on July 2, 2025, the Collegium approved the elevation of the following judicial officers as Judges of the Punjab & Haryana High Court:
1. Shri Virinder Aggarwal: Currently serving as District & Sessions Judge, he has been involved in various judicial capacities across Punjab.
2. Ms. Mandeep Pannu: Previously served as District & Sessions Judge in Moga and was appointed as Legal Remembrancer and Principal Secretary to the Punjab Government.
3. Shri Parmod Goyal: Serving as District & Sessions Judge in Sonepat, Haryana.
4. Ms. Shalini Singh Nagpal: Currently the District & Sessions Judge at Yamunanagar (Jagadhri) and has also served as Director (Administration) at the Haryana State Legal Services Authority.
5. Shri Amarinder Singh Grewal: An advocate with experience in criminal and constitutional law, he was recently appointed as an Additional Judge of the Punjab & Haryana High Court.
6. Shri Subhas Mehla: Serving as District & Sessions Judge, he has held various judicial positions within Haryana.
7. Shri Surya Partap Singh
8. Ms. Rupinderjit Chahal
9. Ms. Aradhana Sawhney
10. Shri Yashvir Singh Rathor
These appointments are expected to strengthen the judicial system by filling existing vacancies and increase the efficiency of the High Courts.
