The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the largest accounting body in the world has made a clarion call to its vast network of over 14 lakh members and students to stand in strong solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces and the country. A press release has been made by the ICAI in connection with the same.
In a firm gesture of solidarity with the recent military actions taken by the Indian Army against terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the Institute has reaffirmed its firm commitment to national service at the hour of crisis.

President of ICAI, CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda, praised the valiant efforts of the Armed Forces and appealed to the entire CA fraternity to unite in support of the nation. He said that “Let us come together in this critical hour. Let the CA fraternity lead by example, proving that we are not only financial stewards but also pillars of strength, compassion and resilience for our nation”
CA. Prasanna Kumar D, Vice-President, ICAI, said “We are financial soldiers of our motherland. In every hour of national need, we stand ready to serve our country,”.

ICAI President has complimented the courage of Indian servicemen, specially after the despicable Pahalgam terrorist attack, and commended Operation ‘SINDOOR’ as a testimony to the forceful expression of an unshakable and sovereign New Bharat. The ICAIBPresident reiterated the Institute’s abiding motto of “Nation First” and asserted the Institute’s time-honoured tradition of being a constant support in days of national peril.

With a strong presence covering 5 Regional Councils, 177 branches inIndia, and more than 40,000 members working in 52 Overseas Chapters and 33 Representative Offices in 47 countries, ICAI is best placed to make a significant contribution to humanitarian and national security initiatives.

The Institute’s presence reaches as close as 17,000 pin codes across the country, with more than 13 branches along the India-Pakistan border, enabling its members in these regions to go beyond the cosmetic gesture and proactively help the local communities and authorities, added the press release.

The ICAI has added that the Chartered Accountants in these regions, supported by ICAI’s local networks, are encouraged to volunteer their time and expertise in various relief operations. This includes assisting with civilian evacuations, establishing shelter camps, providing ambulances and medical supplies, organizing blood donation drives, and delivering essential services in coordination with government agencies, NGOs, and relief organizations. ICAI has urged its members and students to remain alert, report suspicious activities, and uphold national security with vigilance and resolve.

ICAI’s legacy of national service is deeply rooted. During the 1971 Indo-Pak War, its members offered pro-bono services to families of fallen soldiers. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Institute mobilized nationwide relief efforts distributing medical aid, food, and financial support to the affected, while waiving student fees and offering scholarships to those who lost their families.
