ICAI Celebrates 77th CA Day with AI Launch and Focus on Rural Development
The event included a technical session on capital markets and saw the launch of ‘ICAI AI Agent’,an AI-driven platform for enhancing operational efficiency

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) commemorated its 77th Chartered Accountants Day on July 1, 2025, with a grand celebration at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event was inaugurated by Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, who attended as Chief Guest.
In his keynote address, Shri Puri applauded the Chartered Accountancy profession for its enduring contribution to financial integrity and national growth. “Chartered Accountants are not just financial experts, but trusted partners in nation-building. Their role extends far beyond audits, shaping corporate strategy and enhancing investor confidence globally,” he said.

ICAI President CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda highlighted the Institute’s transformation over the past 77 years from just 1,700 members to over 5 lakh across 47 countries. He stated that while technologies like AI and blockchain are transforming the profession, the foundational values of integrity and trust must remain constant.
Vice President CA. Prasanna Kumar D echoed this sentiment, describing Chartered Accountants as “pillars of the Indian economy” and reaffirmed their role in supporting India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
The event also featured an engaging technical session on capital markets, with insights from Shri Anil Singhvi, Managing Editor, Zee Business, and market expert Shri Vijay Kedia.
As part of its digital advancement efforts, ICAI launched the ‘ICAI AI Agent’,an AI-powered digital workspace aimed at boosting internal efficiency. The platform will soon be extended to members and students as part of the Institute’s broader push to foster a smarter, AI-enabled professional ecosystem.
In another key initiative, ICAI announced the formation of a dedicated group focused on rural economic development. The group aims to promote agri-entrepreneurship, support effective implementation of government schemes, and align local efforts with sustainable development goals.
The celebration concluded with a cultural dance presentation titled ‘VISHWASNIYA’, showcasing ICAI’s journey through a rich blend of India’s folk and traditional art forms.
