CBDT Notifies Income Tax Exemption for New Okhla Industrial Development Authority [Read Notification]

The Ministry of Finance issued Notification No. 116/2025 dated 17 July 2025, granting income tax exemption to the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) under Section 10(46A)(b) of the Income-tax Act, 1961.

The notification, published by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), recognizes NOIDA as a tax-exempt authority for the purposes of Section 10(46A) beginning from the assessment year 2024-2025.

The exemption is granted on the condition that NOIDA continues to function as a statutory authority constituted under the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Area Development Act, 1976, and fulfills one or more of the purposes outlined in Section 10(46A)(a) of the Income-tax Act.

This move acknowledges NOIDA’s role in industrial infrastructure development and provides tax relief aimed at supporting its statutory and developmental functions.

The notification also identifies NOIDA by its PAN: AAALN0120A, and formalizes its eligibility for exemption, subject to continued compliance with the legal framework under which it was established.
