CBIC Transfers & Posts 289 Additional/Joint Commissioners across Zones & Directorates [Read Notification]

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued a major transfer and posting order for 289 officers in the grade of Additional Commissioner, Joint Commissioner and Joint Commissioner (In-Situ).

The order issued as Office Order No. 77/2026 and dated 27 May 2026, covers postings across GST and Central Excise zones, Customs formations, investigation directorates, audit wings, risk management units, training academies and other CBIC-linked offices.

As per the order, officers have been posted to several major zones, including Delhi GST & CX Zone, Mumbai GST & CX Zone, Chennai GST & CX Zone, Bengaluru GST & CX Zone, Chandigarh GST & CX Zone, Kolkata GST & CX Zone and Nagpur GST & CX Zone.

The Delhi GST & CX Zone has received the highest number of postings with 23 officers.

It is followed by Mumbai GST & CX Zone with 21 officers, Chennai GST & CX Zone with 15 officers, and Bengaluru and Chandigarh GST & CX Zones with 13 officers each.

The order also includes postings to important directorates such as DGGI, DRI/DGRI, DGARM, DG Systems & Data Management, DG Audit, DGPM, DG Valuation, DGTS, DGoV, NACIN and CC(AR) CESTAT. Several officers have been posted on promotion as Joint Commissioner (In-Situ), while others have been posted on return from deputation or study leave.

Some postings have also been made for specific assignments, including work in the GST Council, Customs Policy Wing, Judicial Cell, CBIC wings and as OSD to the Chairman, CBIC.

The order is part of CBIC’s administrative reshuffle to place senior officers across field formations and specialised directorates.
