Taxpayers attempting to file appeals on the GST Appellate Tribunal ( GSTAT ) portal are reporting repeated technical glitches, with some users unable to progress beyond the initial login stages for over a week.
One appellant, attempting to file an appeal for the past 10 days, described a recurring loop on the portal. According to the user, the process begins smoothly, after entering the ARN on the first page to check eligibility for filing an appeal in the current month, the system approves the ARN and redirects them to the login page.
However, after entering login credentials and pressing “Submit,” the portal redirects back to the ARN page without any error message or explanation.

Despite raising a complaint, the helpdesk has reportedly been unable to identify or resolve the issue, leaving the appellant stuck and unable to proceed.
Taxpayers are hoping that the authorities will address the portal malfunction soon, as prolonged technical issues risk delaying the appeal process for many users.
About GSTAT:
The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) is the final appellate authority under the GST framework, established to provide an independent and efficient mechanism for resolving GST disputes.
Its launch was expected to ease the burden on courts and give taxpayers a streamlined platform for appeal. However, users say that such technical issues on the newly launched portal are hampering the very purpose of the tribunal and causing avoidable delays.
