ICAI Forensic Accounting and Fraud Detection Course Assessment Test on January 24, 2026: Registrations Close Soon

The Institute ofChartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has opened registrations for the Online Assessment Test (AT) for its Certificate Course on Forensic Accounting andFraud Detection (FAFD) to be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
The FAFD Assessment Test is the final evaluation for ICAI members who have completed the specialised certificate course in forensic accounting and fraud detection; clearing this test is essential for obtaining certification.

Who is Eligible to Appear?
Candidates eligible to attempt the test must ensure their eligibility as per the prerequisites listed below:
- Hold an active ICAI membership number
- Have completed the FAFD course eligibility criteria, including 50% aggregate marks in module tests and project work, and 90% attendance in professional training
- Have completed the professional training batch on or before December 31, 2025
Members who have already cleared the FAFD Assessment Test earlier do not need to appear again.
Registration and Deadlines
Registration for the assessment opened on January 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., and closes on January 17, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. Candidates must also complete mandatory face registration/authentication on the Digital Learning Hub (DLH) portal by this same deadline. ICAI has maintained that no applications shall be received after the deadline date.
Fees Payable
First-time candidates: No assessment fee is payable
Reappearing candidates (those who failed earlier attempts): ₹500 + 18% GST (₹590). This fee is non-refundable and must be paid online during registration
Separate registration links are provided on the DLH portal for first-time candidates and reappearing candidates.
Face Registration and Technical Requirements
Face registration is a compulsory, one-time process used for live authentication during the exam (including eye-blink detection for liveliness).
Candidates must:
Use a desktop or laptop (mobile phones and tablets are not permitted)
Ensure a working webcam, good lighting, and stable internet connectivity
Upload facial images as per DLH instructions; approval may take 24-48 hours, so early completion is strongly advised
Failure to complete face registration by January 17, 2026 will make the candidate ineligible to appear for the test.
Exam Date and How to Attempt
The exam shall be conducted in online mode through ICAI’s Digital Learning Hub at https://learning.icai.org, and will run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
Candidates must log in before 10:59 a.m., as late entry is strictly prohibited.
Mock Test
The ICAI shall conduct a mock test on January 21, 2026 (Wednesday), from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. While the mock test is optional, ICAI recommends that candidates attend it to familiarise themselves with the exam interface and proctoring system. Only those who have completed face registration by January 17 will be allowed to take the mock test.
Exam Conduct and Important Cautions
ICAI has laid down strict rules against unfair means. Any attempt to switch tabs, minimise the exam window, refresh the page, or use restricted keys may result in automatic submission and termination of the test, with the matter being referred to the Digital Accounting and Assurance Board. The exam can only be accessed on a desktop or laptop.
