The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released the May 2026 editions of its flagship publications — The Chartered Accountant and The Chartered Accountant Student — reaffirming its commitment to nurturing ethical, skilled, and globally competitive professionals.
Both journals are pointing to the theme “Professional Skillsets: The Foundation of Success”, underscoring the evolving role of Chartered Accountants in a technology‑driven economy.
In his message to students, CA Prasanna Kumar D, President of ICAI, urged aspirants to view examinations not merely as tests of knowledge but as milestones of professional responsibility. He highlighted ICAI’s initiatives such as SPARK workshops, AI training sessions, and the E‑Diary system, which streamline articleship and promote holistic development. The President also cited inspiring stories of resilience, including that of CA Darpan Inani, a visually‑impaired achiever who exemplifies determination and excellence.
Vice‑President CA Mangesh Kinare encouraged students to maintain discipline and emotional balance during the May 2026 examinations, reminding them that success stems from preparation and perseverance. His message reinforced the importance of adaptability, communication, and emotional intelligence as essential professional attributes.
The Board of Studies (Academic), led by CA Babu Abraham Kallivayalil, announced expanded Live Virtual Classes and Open House Query Sessions to support students preparing for the September 2026 exams. These initiatives, accessible via the BoS mobile app, aim to make learning flexible and interactive. The Chairman also reported strong participation in mock tests, with over 56,000 students registered, reflecting ICAI’s growing digital engagement.
Meanwhile, CA Rajesh Sharma, Chairman of the Board of Studies (Operations), states that ethics, humility, and perseverance are cornerstones of success. He celebrated the success of SPARK workshops and the Career Udaan counselling programme, which have guided thousands of commerce students toward informed career choices.
The journals also feature academic capsules on Advanced Financial Management, Strategic Management, and Quantitative Aptitude, alongside interviews with toppers and updates on campus placements, where the highest CTC reached ₹27.5 lakh per annum.
With its dual focus on professional competence and personal growth, ICAI’s May 2026 journals reflect a forward‑looking vision: empowering Chartered Accountants to lead with integrity, innovation, and global relevance.
