Students who have completed the Professional Program are required to participate in the Institute of Company Secretaries of India's (ICSI) Corporate Leadership Development Programme (CLDP). By emphasizing a blend of leadership, soft skills, and core functional competencies, it aims to cultivate the next generation of corporate executives.
This course equips aspiring Company Secretaries with the necessary skills to excel as key managerial personnel (KMPs) in the corporate world. The program aims to enhance their personality, business communication, presentation skills, and practical knowledge of the functional areas of a Company Secretary's work.
The program is a 30-day course, typically conducted in two phases:
- Phase 1: 15 days of online training through the ICSI's Learning Management System (LMS) portal.
- Phase 2: 15 days of classroom training, which can be residential or non-residential, conducted at ICSI's Regional Offices, Chapters, or other designated centers.
Modules on Soft Skills, Leadership, and Core Functional Competencies are all part of the extensive curriculum of the CLDP. Participants' performance in group discussions, case study analysis, presentations, and classroom participation are all used to regularly assess them. They must also pass a viva voce or turn in a project report.
Completion of the CLDP is a prerequisite for membership, but it is not the sole requirement. Other training requirements must also be fulfilled before a student is eligible to apply for Associate Membership.
