The Union Minister of State (I/C) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, on 14 October, 2025, inaugurated the “Live Cases” Dashboard within the Legal Information Management and Briefing System (LIMBS).
The LIMBS “Live Cases” Dashboard, developed by the Department of Legal Affairs provides a real-time visualization of ongoing cases that involve the Government of India as a party. The system provides the legal wing of the various government departments with a ready overview of upcoming hearings and is deemed to enable faster decision-making in the litigation process.
With the help of the Dashboard, ministries and departments would be able to manage their cases more efficiently by tracking progress through data-driven insights, leading to better governance.

What is LIMBS?
The Legal Information Management and Briefing System, abbreviated as LIMBS is a centralized digital repository for court cases filed against or by various ministries and departments. It enables authorized users to upload, update, and track case progress in real time, thereby ensuring accuracy and consistency across departments.
The system also generates analytical reports and dashboards that help policymakers identify recurring issues, assess the performance of legal representatives and devise strategies to prevent avoidable disputes.
At present, the LIMBS portal contains details of more than 7,23,000 live cases that have been drawn from over 53 ministries and departments. The database is continuously updated by 13,175 ministry users and 18,458 advocates, signaling a joint effort to ensure that the platform remains comprehensive and current.
