MCA Grants Deadline Relief for Name Reservations and E‑Form Resubmissions After Data Centre Fire
The memorandum states that all relief measures will be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to due verification.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has issued an official memorandum granting extensions for name reservations and e-form resubmissions, following the fire incident at the MCA21 Data Centre on June 5, 2026. The move aims to mitigate disruptions faced by stakeholders during ongoing restoration and capacity enhancement activities.
According to the memorandum (No. EGov-04/2/2021-e-Gov-MCA, Comp.No. 185122), the following relief measures have been approved:
Extension of Name Reservation Validity:
- Approved name reservations expiring between June 21 and June 30, 2026, will now remain valid until July 10, 2026.
- For reservations that expired between June 5 and June 20, 2026, stakeholders may request an extension up to July 10, 2026 by raising a ticket with the MCA Helpdesk on or before June 30, 2026. Each request will be examined individually, including verification of continued availability of the approved name.
Extension of E-Form Resubmissions:
- E-forms with resubmission deadlines falling between June 21 and June 30, 2026, will be valid until July 10, 2026.
- For e-forms whose resubmission deadlines fell between June 5 and June 20, 2026, stakeholders may similarly seek extensions up to July 10, 2026 by contacting the MCA Helpdesk before June 30, 2026.
- In cases where e-forms were cancelled due to non-resubmission during this period, they may be reopened upon request. Such requests will undergo verification, and once approved, the concerned e-forms will be made available for resubmission until July 10, 2026.
This directive, issued with the approval of the Competent Authority, was signed by M. Harshavardhan Reddy, Deputy Director, and provides relief to companies and LLPs navigating compliance deadlines amid the temporary disruption.
MCA21 is the Ministry of Corporate Affairs’ online e‑governance platform that manages all company‑related filings and records in India. It’s the official portal where companies and LLPs file statutory forms, returns, and documents under the Companies Act, 2013 and LLP Act, 2008.
It enables electronic filing (e‑filing) of incorporation documents, annual returns, and other regulatory submissions. Name reservation is the preliminary step to secure a company’s identity before incorporation.
