MCA Launches 12-Month Corporate Mitra Course For MSME Compliance Support In Partnership With ICAI, ICSI, ICoAI & IIT Madras

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has taken a massive step towards starting the Corporate Mitra Scheme, an initiative announced in the Union Budget 2026–27. The scheme, designed to empower youth and support MSMEs in regulatory compliance, has now formalized collaborations with leading professional institutes, ICAI, ICSI, ICoAI, and IIT Madras.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed this week, establishes a collaborative framework to create a national pool of trained and certified paraprofessionals. These “Corporate Mitras” will provide support in areas such as accounting, taxation, banking, financial management, legal and secretarial practices, and cost and management accounting.
Under the scheme, candidates will undergo a 12-month structured program comprising six months of academic learning (150 hours of expert-led online sessions) followed by six months of on-the-job training with professional firms. Successful participants will be awarded the Corporate Mitra Certificate after periodic assessments and final evaluation.

The initiative aims to build a skilled talent pool to ease compliance burdens for MSMEs, thereby promoting the government’s vision of Viksit Bharat. Eligibility is open to Indian nationals up to 30 years of age who are graduates or final-year students. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
The course fee has been set at ₹3,000 plus GST, with a 50% concession for women candidates and those from North-Eastern states, Himalayan regions, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.
The scheme is expected to strengthen the ease of doing business ecosystem while creating employment opportunities for young professionals. The MCA’s partnership with premier institutes marks a milestone in bridging academic learning with practical industry exposure.
