Repeated Failures Over 9 Years to Success: Woman Clears CA Final on 20th Attempt

A woman has cleared the Chartered Accountancy (CA) Final examination after facing repeated failures for nearly nine years. Vandana Ahuja finally passed the exam on her 20th attempt, showing remarkable determination and perseverance.

Vandana, a 33-year old native of Vadodara continued preparation for the CA Final despite many setbacks. During this long journey, she also worked alongside her father (who drives a fruit lorry) to help support the family.

According to reports, there were times when she almost lost hope. However, her mother’s constant encouragement kept her going. Her mother often reminded her that no matter what happened, she must complete her CA qualification.

In a LinkedIn post following the exam results, Ahuja wrote that it took her 20 attempts to clear the CA exams, adding that she repeatedly saw the result “Not Cleared” and often questioned herself during the process.

She said there were moments when she wondered whether she should quit, but one thought kept her going: “What if I quit now and regret it forever?”

Ahuja said the long journey tested her patience, confidence, finances and mental health. She recalled feeling embarrassed at times, crying silently at night, and avoiding social gatherings, but said she continued showing up and refused to give up on herself.

Announcing her success, she wrote: “Today I can finally say: I am a Chartered Accountant.”

She also thanked her family, mentors and friends for supporting her during difficult times and encouraged others facing struggles, saying everyone’s timeline is different.

“Resilience > Speed,” she wrote.

Her story has inspired many people on social media with users praising her determination and resilience.
