The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) announced the resumption of its Self-Paced Online Module ( SPOM ) examinations starting from May 15, 2025. This comes after the exams were earlier postponed on May 9 due to security concerns.
In an official notification released on May 13, 2025, the ICAI stated that the favorable security situation across the country has enabled the institute to resume the postponed exams. The earlier decision to stop the SPOM exams was taken as a precautionary measure in light of uncertain circumstances.

“The Self-Paced Online Module (SPOM) examinations of Chartered Accountants stand resumed from 15th May 2025 and onwards,” read the notice issued by CA. Anand Kumar Chaturvedi, Joint Secretary (Examinations), ICAI.

Candidates appearing for the SPOM are advised to regularly check the official ICAI website (www.icai.org) for further updates and instructions.
