The Income Tax department has released the excel utility of ITR-3 for the Assessment Year 2023-24. It is available for download on the official website of the Income Tax Department.
Those who file income tax returns using the ITR-3 form include both individuals and Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs) who make money from a job or a business. It is one of the forms that the Income Tax Department has established for the submission of income tax returns.
The Utility Includes PART A – General, in which you have to give your personal information, audit information ..etc., Nature of business, PART A- Balance Sheet, Manufacturing Account, Trading Account, Profit & Loss Account, Schedule S (Income from Salary), House Property, Schedule BP (Income from Business or profession), Schedule CG (Capital Gain), Schedule GST…etc.
How to Download Excel Utility
Below the ITR-3, you will get the access to excel utility accompanied with schema, validation rules and ITR notified form A.Y.2023-24.
Regarding the ITR-1 and ITR-4, the Central board of Direct Taxes has released the Common Offline Utility for filing ITR-1 and ITR-4 for Assessment Year 2022-23 in April last year. Taxpayers could download the ITR Offline Utility through the “Downloads” Menu option, and fill and file the ITR through the same. The year before, the CBDT had replaced the Excel and Java versions of ITR utilities with JSON for ITR-1 and ITR-4.

The Income Tax Department has released the first version of the excel utility for filing ITR-1 and ITR 4 on 24th April 2023. And the latest version of excel utility for ITR -1was released on 5th May 2023.

The excel utility for filing ITR-2 was already released by the Income Tax department on 11th May 2023.
