GST Officials Not Maintaining Proper Office Decorum, Setting ‘Bad Precedent’: Chief Commissioner [Read Circular]

The Principal Chief Commissioner of CGST has issued an instruction stating that some of the officers are not maintaining the office decorum and thus, setting a bad precedent.

Dr. D.K. Sri Chief Commissioner CGST 86 Central Excise Mumbai Zone has issued a letter addressing the higher officials.

“It has been noticed that some of the Principal Commissioner / Commissioners are not available in their office during office hours without informing the controlling officer. This is highly deplorable and sad to note that Principal Commissioner / Commissioners are not maintaining proper office decorum, thus setting a bad precedent,” the Chief Commissioner, Central GST said.

Warning the officials, the Chief Commissioner further stated that “In future, any such misdemeanor will be viewed very seriously and I will be a constraint to take necessary action in the matter.”
